What we collect

• Quote form answers: the ZIP code and address of the property, its type, year built, size and roof, the coverage you want, your claims history and details of any current policy.
• Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
• Device and usage details: your IP address, device model, browser, pages opened, referring page and visit times.
• Cookies and similar tools that save your progress through the form, tell us how visitors use the pages and record which ad or link brought you here.

How we use it

We match your request with carriers, agencies and marketing partners, run and secure the site, prevent fraud, measure advertising and meet legal duties.

Who receives it

Sending the quote form passes your answers to insurers, marketing partners and agencies. Any of them may get in touch about home insurance by phone, text or email, and where you gave consent on the form that can include autodialed or prerecorded calls and texts. Consent is not required to buy anything. Your mobile carrier's usual fees for messages and data may apply.

Companies working on our behalf, for example for hosting, security, analytics and form handling, see only what their task needs. Disclosure is also possible when a law demands it, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.

Whatever a partner does with your details after receiving them is governed by that partner's own rules. We cannot dictate how long it keeps them or how else it uses them.

Sale and sharing under state law

Under some state privacy laws, giving your information to partners who pay us, or making it available for targeted advertising, counts as a sale or sharing. Sending your quote request to partners does. The categories involved are identifiers and contact details, property and insurance details, and internet activity. The recipients are carriers, agencies and marketing partners. You can opt out as described below.

Your choices

• Unwanted calls or texts: send STOP in reply to a message, tell the caller you want it to end, or email us the number together with the email address you entered on the form. Partners apply their own policies, so contact each of them too. Ask us and we will say which partners were sent your details.
• Cookies: browser settings let you block or clear them, though parts of the quote form could stop functioning.
• Sale, sharing and targeted ads: email us and say you want to opt out.

State privacy rights

People in California and some other states have rights over their data: to learn what we hold, to obtain a copy, to correct mistakes or demand deletion, to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, and to be free of retaliation for asking. Write to us from the email address you gave on the form, name the right you are using and include enough detail for us to find your record. We may ask you to prove your identity first.

Retention

Quote requests and related records stay with us only as long as the service, disputes, legal and accounting duties or enforcement of our terms require. Once they are no longer needed we delete or anonymize them, and server logs go sooner.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

Under 18

This website is intended for adults only. We do not seek or retain details about anyone younger than 18, and a parent who finds such details can email us to have them removed.

Revisions

When the policy is revised, we post the new text here and refresh the date at the top.
